Loyal for more than twenty years

We editors have already known for a long time that the Perry Rhodan series has a very loyal readership. We’ve known this from the fan letters, and we’ve also known this from our own reading experience: A few years have certainly passed since I read my first booklet novella issue in 1977.

This fall, we decided to take a closer look at our subscriber loyalty. Here at the publishing company, Perry Rhodan subscribers are considered to be particularly “durable." You can essentially rely on the loyalty of the readership. But at the same time, we never really knew exactly how far this went. After all, as editors, we are more focused on releasing new content than on becoming engrossed in subscriber listings.

In the end, we were quite surprised at how many loyal subscribers we actually have. In fact, the first edition has close to 1,000 subscribers who’ve been around for twenty years or more, and we’ll be breaking the four digit barrier soon …

But the reissue editions, too, stand for readership loyalty. The third edition has almost a hundred subscribers who’ve been around for more than twenty years, and the fifth edition has more than four hundred such subscribers by far. Well done!

On behalf of all my colleagues on the team, I tip my hat at this kind of readership loyalty. It’s more than merely respectable - it’s superb! To be working for readers like that is a very special responsibility for us.
