I’ll admit it: In spite of our busy schedules, we always appreciate it when a friendly visitor stops by at the offices of the editor for Perry Rhodan. Especially if the visitor also shows up with a ton of ideas and surprises us with them.
In this instance we’re talking about Dirk Schulz, the Perry Rhodan cover artist whose upcoming covers you’ll soon be able to enjoy. We certainly were thrilled, by the portrayal of an Algorrian as well as depictions of other subjects.
There was much to discuss, as Dirk presented several concepts that also will be implemented in the foreseeable future. Especially Frank Borsch and Klaus Bollhöfener (see the photo) were quite taken by Dirk’s work as he proceeded to bring it up on screen.
We were very happy that the work of this artist, who lives in Bielefeld, was very well received by the readers and sometimes even triggered veritable cheering. No wonder, then, that Dirk is now working for us on a regular basis: Every fourth batch of covers will be done by him.
And I can already announce that he will be designing the cover of jubilee edition 2200. He’s already working on initial ideas - in close cooperation, by the way, with Robert Feldhoff, who will be writing that issue as well.
